Is Cardinal free?​

Yes! All of Cardinal's self-hosted apps (Media Server, Music, Photos, and Cinema) are all free. Cardinal also offers cloud services that you can use for free if you make a cloud account.

Is Cardinal open source?​

The source code for the self-hosted apps is published to GitHub and made available under the Elastic License 2.0. While it doesn't qualify as a truly open souce license, it allows people to view, modify, and redistribute the code with only a few restrictions.

Can I make a commercial app that uses Cardinal Media Server?​

Yes. See the Developer Forum.

Where is the API reference for my Media Server?​

Those docs are not on this website. Once your Media Server is up and running you'll find the API reference at <home-server-ip>:24900/api/docs.

Are there any mobile apps?​

Not yet, but they are planned.

Is technical support available?​

Not at this time.
