Release Channels

Cardinal Media Server is available on multiple release channels. Each is available as a tag in Docker Hub.

1. stable - Choose the stable release if you prioritize predictability and durability, and if you're ok with waiting to get new features. The stable release is typically a few weeks to a few months behind the beta release, depending on the complexity of the new incoming features.
2. beta - The beta release contains new features that have just been completed or are nearing completion. The purpose of this channel is to gather feedback before shipping new features in the stable release. Your data and database should be just as safe in the beta release as it is in the stable release, but statistically you are more likely to come across bugs in this release.
3. latest - An experimental release that is built from the main branch in Cardinal's internal repository. Should only be used by developers or people that are interested in testing experimental features and potentially breaking something.
